I thought it might be time for a bit of reintroduction, especially since our paths might not have crossed in a while, or maybe we haven’t had the chance to meet yet! I’m Jay Dermer, born and bred right here in beautiful South Florida. Being a third-generation lawyer in South Florida, it seems like the passion for law runs in my veins. But hey, life isn’t all about work, right? When I’m not representing my clients, I’m out fly fishing, lost in a good book, or spending precious moments with my family. It’s these moments away from the office that recharge me and remind me why I fight so hard for what’s right.
My Journey from the Courtroom to Your Corner
My legal adventure started about a decade ago, working as a public defender. It was an eye-opener, fighting for folks who couldn’t afford legal representation. Then, I switched sides to become a State’s Attorney in Palm Beach County, where I poured my energy into safeguarding our community. These experiences taught me a lot about justice, fairness, and the importance of having someone in your corner who genuinely cares and is ready to fight for you.

I’ve advocated over 50 jury trials, which I guess makes me good at fighting the good fight, but what ultimately got me on my new path was bringing my passion for helping people, really listening and caring, to personal injury law. After sharpening my skills and leading as a Partner at a Miami-based firm, I saw gaps in how personal injury victims were represented, often lacking real empathy and the desire to bring them full recovery, not just in compensation but in compassion. That’s why I started Dermer Law Firm. I wanted to create a place where clients feel respected, empowered, and truly supported during their toughest times.
Let’s Talk
So, that’s a little bit about me and my journey. I believe everyone deserves a lawyer who’s not just in it for the win but also genuinely cares about making a difference in their lives. Whether we’ve met before or might meet in the future, I’m here, ready to stand by your side.
Looking forward to catching up or getting to know you!
Warmest,
Jay
